The goals of this study are to evaluate the reliability and performance of an electrophysiologic ear bud device (AwareHearable).
During this study we will assess the ease of use and long-term tolerability of the AwareHearable for adult patients with epilepsy. We will assess the performance of the Aware Hearable in providing high quality EEG non-inferior to that of a commercially available EEG systems, in the setting of temporal lobe epilepsy.
More specifically, we will assess whether the Aware Hearable can reliably and visibly record seizures, interictal epileptiform discharges, and normal background features of an EEG, with direct comparison to the gold standard of simultaneously recorded intracranial and scalp EEG signals. We will also localize the site origin of the AwareHearable signal.
